Yao Zhang, Ph.D.

Biography

 Yao Zhang, Ph.D., joined the School of Information as a post-doctoral research scholar in 2017. She worked as a post-doctoral research fellow in the SmartState Center of Healthcare Quality, Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina from 2016-2017. She has also served as an Information Specialist in the USC/Columbia technology incubator. Her research centers on the application of information and communication technology (ICT) in healthcare among elder population and eHealth intervention among people with chronic disease. She is also interested in the information engagement in entrepreneurial businesses, particularly those that target healthcare innovation.


Yao has a B.A. in English from Nankai University, China, M. A. in Multilingual Information Management from Sheffield University, England and a Ph. D. in Library and Information Science from University of South Carolina
